Apollo 13

This was the first feature film to which I had the opportunity to contribute as a digital artist when I started working at Digital Domain in 1994.

This intense, painstakingly authentic docudrama from director Ron Howard recounts NASA's worst nightmare turned into one of the space agency's most heroic moments in 1970. The film is perhaps the most perfect example where special effects serve the story and help make it completely credible.

Apollo 13 received the BAFTA Award for Best Special Effects in 1996, as well as an Academy Award nomination in the same category.
