Tightrope

This was my first short animated film, which I wrote and directed. Produced by Digital Domain, the five-minute film was released in 1998.

The allegorical story finds two characters walking on a tightrope towards each other, one a jester and the other a masked man wearing a suit. They soon meet in the middle, in a seemingly inescapable situation.

The visual direction pits reality against fantasy and detail against ambiguity to create a style that might be called photosurrealism.
